Pick which trials bike you would rather ride on. Incase you are unaware of what a stock and a modified trials bike is then let me explain. A stock trials bike is bigger then a mod. It has 26 inch tires, larger frame, more components.
A modified trials bike is smaller then a stock with 20 inch tires and has less components and a smaller frame with a much longer stem to keep the handle bars at a comfortable place for riding, and is one speed with a bigger rear tire so there are less pinch flats.
A mod looks a lot like a bmx. Now you might think light bike and less components might be the best thing to use; no not really. It really matters on how you ride, some people might not like the feel of a small bike, reminds them of when they were young using little kids bikes , and the single speed sucks.
The problem with mods is the one speed gearing. They are sort of like a bmx, but slower, the gear ring is smaller. So if your planning on meeting someone on time and you have to bike a distance, then be prepared to leave early, because you won't move quickly on a mod.
The problem with a stock is the 26' tires and derailer. Now bigger rim means easier to untrue, and more pinch flats. Pain in the butt . Derailers aren't much better either, especially if you like to side hop up objects because if you don't make it, then you land on your derailer and bend it or even brake it, unless you side hop you're left side then you have bypassed that problem .
So like i said it depends on how you ride, if you like less components to worrie about, lighter bike, single speed, less pinch flats then go with a mod. If you like more gears, bigger bike, more comfort then go with a stock.
Pick which one you like more, it would be interesting to get your opinion. Thank you.
Cheers
